What you will do:
- Utilize your Commercial Real Estate lending experience to grow Metro Bank by acquiring new customers and maintaining an active portfolio of existing clients.
- Proactively engage in the large commercial real estate market, strengthening Metro Bank’s relationship banking reputation, with a focus on Real Estate lending as a key asset class.
- Achieve lending and business development objectives while responding to market challenges, regulatory requirements, and internal risk considerations.
- Foster a strong internal network across the bank to ensure a unified approach for customers and colleagues, delivering tailored propositions within risk appetite.
- Collaborate closely with Real Estate colleagues, especially Relationship Managers and Commercial Analysts, to ensure timely credit and operational risk assessments.
- Manage risk aspects including credit, operational, and regulatory risks.
- Support colleagues' career development and serve as a role model, particularly for Relationship Managers aspiring to progress into your role.

What you will need:
- Experience in origination and portfolio management in commercial Real Estate lending within banking or similar financial services.
- Strong credit origination and deal structuring skills, with experience lending to complex Real Estate Finance clients, including large residential and mixed asset classes.
- Knowledge of commercial banking, property investment, and development lending, along with broader banking and product knowledge.
- Proficiency in credit writing, financial analysis, and preparing reports for clients with complex needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence senior management and external stakeholders.
- An understanding of the risks associated with your role and their implications for stakeholders.
