The Company
Our client is a well-established engineering company based in Merseyside. They supply leading firms in the Nuclear, Defence, Oil, Gas, Fluid, and Power Generation sectors and specialise in manufacturing and supply of precision components. Due to a full and growing order-book, they need to recruit a CNC Operator / CNC Turner.
The Job
They have an exciting opportunity for a CNC Operator / CNC Turner to programme, set, operate join their CNC turning division.They manufacture one-offs and small batches, maximizing employee skills. The role includes creating programs, selecting tooling, and machining shafts from various steel grades using advanced CNC Lathes with live tooling and programable steadies, utilizing both C & Y axis machining.
About You
The essential CNC Operator / CNC Turner requirements:
NVQ 3 or equivalent
Proficient in programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes with Fanuc Controls
Ability to work from detailed engineering drawings
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Systems
Experience machining exotic metals (e.g., super duplex, duplex, 718, x750, Hastelloy, Monel)
Previous experience in a similar role (2yrs min)
Strong planning and organizing skills
Effective communication with peers and management
Attention to detail
Preferred experience for the CNC Operator / CNC Turner but not essential requirements:
Doosan Lathes (Chuck sizes ranging from 8 to 30) (Lengths from 1m to 3.2m)
Manual Guide Programming capabilities
One CNC Programming Software package
C & Y axis programming and machining
Programmable steadies
Production of valve and pump components
Serving the Nuclear, Defence, oil, gas, fluid, and power generation sectors
Proficient in Office 365 and ERP Systems

The Offer
The client offers the CNC Operator / CNC Turner a generous annual salary up to £37,500 (DOE), overtime paid @ 1.5 per hour, pension scheme, etc. Including flexible working arrangements!!
