An established and highly respected precision engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Turner / Programmer / Setter to join its growing engineering team. The business specialises in producing low-volume, high-quality tubular and threaded components for demanding sectors such as Aerospace, Motorsport, Oil & Gas and Defence.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who takes pride in precision engineering and is confident working to tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating 2-axis CNC lathes, producing one-off and short-run components in a range of metals. You will be expected to write and edit CNC programs long-hand at the machine with minimal supervision, work accurately from engineering drawings, and carry out in-process inspection using measuring equipment.

Experience with Fanuc-controlled lathes is advantageous, and knowledge of Fanuc Manual Guide i and G-code would be beneficial. The role involves machining components ranging from approximately Ø25mm x 100mm up to Ø300mm x 3m in length (hoist lifting equipment and training provided).

The Candidate

Applicants should have proven, time-served experience in CNC turning and programming, a strong understanding of the turning process, and the ability to work independently. A hands-on, quality-driven and self-motivated approach is essential.

Package & Benefits

The position offers a salary of £35,000 – £41,000 per annum, aligned to skill level and experience. Overtime is available and paid at time and a half.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm and Friday 8:00am – 2:30pm. The role includes 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays), an additional bonus holiday over the Christmas period to allow a full shutdown, a pension scheme, health care scheme and excellent working conditions.
