SALARY: £16.72 - £18.78 per hour (depending on experience) + Overtime + Benefits (weekly pay)

WORKING HOURS: Day Shift hours - 39 hours per week, 7am – 4pm Monday to Thursday, 7am – 12pm Friday

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a CNC Turner to join a busy precision engineering environment producing high specification component parts and assemblies.
As a CNC Turner you will programme, set and operate lathes, machine exotic materials, read complex engineering drawings and carry out quality checks using measuring equipment and basic CMM.
This CNC Turner role suits a capable machinist with a strong work ethic, good communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement, teamwork and high manufacturing standards.

DUTIES
Your duties as the CNC Turner include:
• Programming and Setting Lathes: effectively programme, set and operate CNC lathes to meet production deadlines and quality standards
• Machining Exotic Materials: machine materials such as 625 and 718 using FANUC or Siemens control systems
• Reading Engineering Drawings: interpret complex engineering drawings and manufacture components to specification
• Modifying Existing Programs: set or amend existing programs where required to support production
• Quality Inspection: use measuring equipment and basic CMM to complete checks and maintain accuracy
• Tooling Improvements: implement minor tooling changes and suggest major improvements where appropriate
• Process Improvement Support: identify and suggest process improvements to the engineering department
• Team Support: assist and instruct colleagues when needed across the machining team
• Machine Loading and Monitoring: load varying size components safely and competently and monitor long cycle times
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
• Previous experience in a similar CNC turning or machining role
• Experience with FANUC or Siemens control systems
• Able to understand complex engineering drawings
• Able to set or modify existing CNC programs
• Confident using measuring equipment and basic CMM
• Able to work alone and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills and reliable timekeeping
• Willingness to follow management direction and achieve results
DESIRABLE
• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent
• Enthusiasm to learn and contribute ideas for process improvements
