CNC Setter Operator Location: Uckfield, TN22 1QL Salary: £32,000 per annum + Benefits! Contract: Full time, Permanent Benefits: Twenty days holiday plus statutory bank holidays, Pension & Life Insurance and Private Health Insurance! The CNC Setter Operator is responsible for operating and programming high/low volume CNC machines to produce high-precision parts and components according to technical drawings and specifications. This role involves setting up CNC machines, running tests and ensuring that all produced parts meet quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities of the CNC Setter Operator role: * Produce components either as a one off or a large batch to a high and precise specification and accuracy. * Set and operate CNC machinery and order appropriate tooling that may be required to complete scheduled jobs. * Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity. * Perform self-first off and final inspection of own and other staffs manufactured components. * General cleaning, sorting and tidying of the machine shop. * Create change request forms for any alteration/additions to components being made. * Cleaning out and stripping down machines after use. * Assembly and packing of finished components in machine shop. * Preparation of components to be sent to subcontractor for welding, plating or painting. * Provide cover for members of team e.g. work on manual machines as and when required. * Cooperate with other departments e.g. assist stores with the delivery of the raw material to machine shop. * Take reasonable care of the Health and Safety of yourself and any other people who may be affected by your acts and to co-operate with Soil Instruments Ltd in order that the employer’s duty may be fulfilled. * Adhere to 5S principles. * Ad-hoc tasks for line manager as required. In order to be successful in this role you must have / be: * Experienced knowledge of Sliding Head & CNC lathes (both Fanuc). * Knowledge of Bar-feeding equipment. * Ability to understand and follow technical drawing. * Good time management with the ability to prioritize workload to achieve deadline. * Good knowledge of dimensional measurement & control. * Good knowledge of different types and grades of raw material. * Good attention to detail. * Ability to work as part of a small team or independently. * Programming and knowledge of editing is not essential but would be an advantage.
