A great opportunity has arisen for a skilled CNC Machinist to join a leading supplier to the Oil & Gas, Aerospace and Defence industries.
Job Description:
Interpret technical drawings and job packs to set up CNC machines Program and operate CNC lathes and milling machines (Fanuc, Siemens controls) Perform first-off inspections and maintain quality throughout production Adjust offsets and tooling to optimize cycle times and reduce waste Conduct routine machine maintenance and adhere to health & safety protocols Collaborate with engineers to improve processes and efficiencyBeneficial Skills / Qualifications:
Time-served or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering. Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator (multi-axis preferred) Ability to read and interpret complex CAD drawings Experience with various metals - exotic, steel & aluminium Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and CMM inspection. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Flexibility to work shifts and overtime when required Programming experience at the machine and offline (Hypermill or similar) Experience with Mill/Turn or 5-axis machining and tight-tolerance components Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
