CNC MachinistLocation: East LothianWere seeking a practical and reliable Machine Operator to join a busy workshop team, working with large, industrial CNC machines.Please note:This isnot a programming role.The CNC machines are used for cutting, punching, and drilling structural steel, with programs prepared by the in-house detailing team. As the operator, your focus will be on running the machines safely, ensuring the correct material is loaded, and verifying that parts match the engineering drawings and program specifications.If you enjoy hands-on work, collaborating in a busy workshop environment, and working with large-scale equipment, this could be an excellent opportunity.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate large CNC steel processing machinesEnsure the correct job runs on the correct materialCheck measurements and quality as parts are producedUse overhead cranes and handling equipment safelyWork closely with supervisors and fabricatorsMaintain a clean, safe, and organised workspaceNote:The role involves practical workshop tolerances. You willnotbe writing programs or editing codethe focus is on safe operation, attention to detail, and consistent output.Candidate RequirementsExperience operating machinery in a workshop or manufacturing environmentComfortable handling structural steel or heavy materialsStrong attention to detailReliable and safety-focusedFlexible for day, night, and weekend shiftsPrevious CNC experience is advantageous, but candidates who have worked with other machinery and are eager to learn are encouraged to apply.
