Cloud Security Architect (6‑month contract, Outside IR35)

We’re looking for a Cloud Security Architect for our consultancy client delivering a major cyber security transformation programme for a large financial services organisation. The role is a 6‑month contract with a pay rate of £600 to £750 per day. Remote work is enabled with occasional travel to London when required.

Overview

The programme focuses on strengthening cloud security architecture across a large AWS and Azure environment while supporting the organisation’s broader cyber maturity roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Design secure cloud architectures across AWS and Azure environments.
• Implement cloud security controls aligned with NIST, ISO 27001 or CIS frameworks.
• Support large cloud transformation or migration programmes.
• Define identity, access and network security models within cloud platforms.
• Work closely with engineering and DevOps teams to embed security controls.
• Produce architecture documentation, threat models and security design reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience working with AWS and Azure cloud security.
• Strong knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, or similar security frameworks.
• Experience with cloud transformation, migration and security design.
• Familiarity with identity, access and network security in cloud platforms.
• Experience in financial services, fintech or regulated environments is desirable.
