Location: Hybrid (Chelsea, London + remote)

Contract: Full-time / Part-time minimum 22.5 hours worked flexibly across the week

Salary: £65,000–£85,000 FTE (pro rata, dependent on experience)

Exciting Opportunity for a Clinical Lead Psychologist


We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and reflective Clinical Lead to join our leadership team at the Chelsea Psychology Clinic. This senior role offers a unique opportunity to support high-quality psychological care within a thriving private clinic setting.


The Clinical Lead will be responsible for providing clinical supervision and leadership to a team of psychologists, while also maintaining their own clinical caseload. The role combines recruitment, supervision, professional development, and direct therapeutic work to support a culture of excellence in client care, clinician wellbeing, and highly skilled, formulation-driven practice.


Key Responsibilities


1. Clinical Supervision & Leadership (40% time):


  • Provide clinical supervision to a team of 12–24 psychologists (depending on supervision needs and frequency).
  • Deliver 6 supervision sessions per week, focused on developing reflective, evidence-based, and formulation-driven clinical practice.
  • Support clinicians in navigating the transition from NHS to private practice, including understanding clinical, ethical, and commercial responsibilities.
  • Oversee supervision records and ensure documentation meets CQC standards.
  • Support clinicians to manage caseloads safely and effectively, with attention to therapeutic outcomes and client retention.
  • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and retention for both employed and associate clinicians.
  • Screen applications and CVs, offer recruitment calls, interviews, negotiate contracts, and support the induction of new psychologists.
  • Lead or support on clinical debriefs, complaints processes, and significant incident investigations (SUIs) where required.
  • Foster a positive and engaged clinical culture, promoting reflective practice, wellbeing, and a sense of team.
  • Support more junior staff such as assistant psychologists or customer service representatives through supervision, reflective practice, direct feedback on their calls, managing of, and learning from complaints.


2. Clinical Work (60% time)


  • Provide high-quality psychological assessment and therapy to individuals, couples and families.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary thinking and support an integrated, client-centred approach across services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and work in accordance with clinic policies, GDPR, and professional codes of practice.


What We’re Looking For


We are looking for a HCPC-registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (or equivalent professional registration) with:


  • Significant post-qualification experience in delivering psychological therapy across a range of presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience of providing clinical supervision and leadership within a therapeutic setting.
  • A strong commitment to reflective practice, clinical formulation, and evidence-based approaches.
  • Confidence in supporting clinicians in private practice settings, including managing performance and embedding accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, guide, and hold a clinical team.
  • A flexible and pragmatic approach to balancing clinical quality with operational awareness.
  • Desirable: training and experience in schema therapy and/ or EMDR
