The Opportunity


Following the planned departure of a key operational leader, the business is seeking an exceptional Clinic Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational excellence.


This is a pivotal role requiring a senior healthcare management professional, with vast experience in a Private Medical Clinic, who can immediately impact the team of 50-60 staff members while maintaining the premium service standards that define their reputation.


The successful candidate will be a seasoned leader capable of restoring operational structure, embedding accountability frameworks, and driving the continued growth of this high-profile business.



Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Team Management


  • Provide comprehensive leadership for a diverse team of 50-60 clinical and non-clinical staff, including direct management of departmental managers
  • Consolidate PAYE employees and self-employed practitioners (including GPs) into a cohesive, high-performing team
  • Develop and implement clear performance objectives and accountability frameworks across all departments
  • Foster a culture of excellence, professionalism, and continuous improvement



Operational Excellence


  • Oversee all non-clinical operations ensuring seamless, efficient, and premium-quality service delivery
  • Serve as the central operational hub, coordinating between departments and ensuring smooth daily operations
  • Manage operational changes including IT system implementations and structural updates
  • Maintain and enhance our exceptional service standards, particularly for high-profile clientele



People Management & HR


  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff retention initiatives
  • Manage all aspects of staff relations and HR matters, working collaboratively with external HR consultancy as required
  • Proactively address workplace challenges and maintain a positive, professional environment
  • Establish clear professional boundaries and effective communication protocols



Strategic Communication


  • Act as primary liaison between company directors and all operational departments
  • Ensure clear communication of business strategy and priorities throughout the organisation
  • Drive teams toward key business objectives and growth initiatives
  • Provide operational insights and recommendations to senior leadership



Commercial Awareness


  • Maintain a strong commercial focus, identifying operational areas requiring attention or improvement
  • Support business growth through operational excellence and efficiency improvements
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards and company policies
  • Understand and protect the premium positioning of our services



Experience & Background


  • Minimum 5 years senior management experience as Clinic Manager, Practice Manager, or Operations Manager
  • Essential experience within private medical practice or a comparable high-end service environment
  • Proven track record managing multidisciplinary teams of 50+ staff members
  • Deep understanding of private healthcare delivery and premium service models



Management Expertise


  • Demonstrable expertise in all aspects of people management including recruitment, performance management, and conflict resolution
  • Experience operating outside NHS culture with understanding of private, high-value service delivery
  • Proven ability to implement accountability frameworks and drive performance improvements
