We are looking for a London based experienced Client Services Director who can bring experience and qualities to enhance our already talented team working efficiently across multiple projects, multiple clients and possible multiple time zones. This is a senior role within the senior leadership team of the business reporting directly to the Managing Director. This is a maternity cover contract (12 months) with a target start date of mid Feb 2026.
Strategy
· Work closely with the Managing Director to understand the vision and direction of the business and support and improve through client relationship and delivery goals
· Attend business strategy meetings and take responsibility for developing business proposals covering talent, growth, cost efficiencies and policies with limited input from the MD
· Manage recruitment for new roles across the business to improve on talent and skillsets
· Input and lead on certain areas of wider business goals and planning including but not limited to marketing, training, social presence, insights and research, policies and procedures
· Is seen as a strategic partner by clients and procurement teams as well as the wider industry
Company and Client Knowledge
· Act as a source of comprehensive knowledge and understanding about your client organisations and their associated market sectors and industries for the delivery of strategic communications counsel
· Proactively cascade this knowledge upwards and downwards within your team as appropriate
· An awareness of the wider social, political, and economic landscape and its implications for each client
· Have in-depth knowledge of our company to enable you to confidently present our offering and strategy to colleagues and clients
Account Leadership
· Strategic point of contact for senior clients building strong relationships across department leads and procurement to lead to better forecasting and rates
· Lead the account and project teams to ensure flawless client management through delivery – problem solving, upselling and relationship building
· Ensure brand and quality consistency across all projects
· Use your knowledge of the industry to push creative and clients and budgets
· Identify opportunities for growth within accounts and push those with support from the account team
· Ensure all accounts are maintained within budget and time constraints
· Be seen as the face of Seen Presents key client accounts
Communication and Presenting
· Confident in leading on presentations to new and existing clients including ideating, authoring and prepping the presentations beforehand
· Able to communicate effectively across the board from the team to clients to senior management and procurement – UK and globally
· Able to cultivate positive relationships across the team, and clients to ensure productive ways of working and positive working environments and client relationship growth, retention, and development across the board
· Pro-active – able to come armed with solutions and suggestions and lead the way when it comes to pro-actively solving problems, outlining tasks and delegating
· Able to navigate difficult conversations with ease and strategically brainstorm solutions with minimal input from the MD
· Add value to creative pitches with new ideas as well as ways of working and processes – ensure we are constantly raising the bar
Financial Acumen and New Business
· Set and manage account targets
· Delivers against set targets for client growth – this role is about growing our team and business
· Review and manage account plans with the account team
· Interrogate finances across clients to suggest ways of improvement across cost efficiencies ie rate cards, SOWs, MSAs
· Cultivating and seeking out new accounts and new relationships to create new business opportunities
New Business
· Actively seek, develop and implement new business from existing clients/contacts through innovation, proactivity and excellence in delivery
· Proactively suggests new markets and targets outside of the expected
· Lead on new business pitches, tenders and credentials contributes to the achievement of the practice/agency new business target
Team Development & Communication
· Passion and talent for leading and mentoring a team including educating and coaching on the principles of Account Management to the Project Team
· Coordinate Internal training and learning presentations associated to account management
· Ensure internal processes reflect agency culture and values and are appropriately executed by all project managers
· Can successfully navigate different personalities and drive the team to get the best out of every ability and personality
Marketing and Media
· Nurture close relationships with a pool of journalists who know you personally, will take your call and listen to ideas you pitch on behalf of Seen Presents ie articles, posts, talking about projects
· Ensure you have an active social business presence to help drive trust in you and Seen Presents– this is a vital and expected part of the role
· Engaging with Seen Presents content as well as having an active voice in the events industry is expected
· Take part in the wider marketing plan to include speaker opportunities, authoring articles, insight report and research videos
Key Skills
· Significant experience in professional client relationship management
· Significant experience in growing multiple existing and new accounts
· A solid background in global experiential events
· The ability to plan and strategise at a senior level
· A persuasive and confident approach to creative and complex projects
· Excellent written and communication skills
· Effective team management to get the best out of our incredible team
· Detail, detail, detail – catch us before we fall
· Full awareness of the creative and production process so you can advise and steer
· Ability to be an authoritative figure in the absence of the MD
· Ability to read and evaluation sales performance metrics and targets
· Experience in handling, reviewing and amending multiple, large and complex budgets
· Personable, human and authentic
Experience required:
*12 years+ experience as a Account Director upwards within events delivering projects up to value of £2 million and beyond
*5 years+ experience as senior leader within a business
*Proven client management, account reports creation & management and account growth
This is an office-based role (Tues, Wed, Thurs with rest WFH) that will require you to spend time in meetings and briefings, as well as staying in close contact with clients. It can be demanding, but very rewarding! Working hours will be standard office times; however, deadlines and installations may stretch this further.
