The position of Class 1 Tramper involves: Starting as a cover driver and once experienced, and availability arises a permanent vehicle will be issued. Collecting and delivering customers products on a curtain sided trailer, this will include a great deal of load security using ratchet straps. Delivering loads throughout the UK both full and groupage loads. Using a handheld PDA to complete paperwork. Dealing with customers face to face and over the phone. Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing our customers' expectations. This will include nights away. Attending regular training sessions. Essential skills required for Class 1 Tramper: Must hold a UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence. Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card. Be passionate about providing excellent customer service. Working to deadlines. Confident, polite and a team player. Good geographical knowledge.
