About the Role
As a Class 1 Driver, you will:
Operate a curtain side vehicle for loading and unloading using a Counterbalance forklift to deliver specialist parts and equipment to client depots to ensure they remain fully stocked for planned maintenance work.
Work on a set delivery rota with known destinations and depots.
Put stock away at the delivery depots, either by hand or using a forklift.
Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Must hold a UK Class 1 CE license.
Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
Forklift license preferred but training will be provided.
A HIAB licence is beneficial but not mandatory.
Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
Ability to work to deadlines.
Confident, polite, and a team player.
Good geographical knowledge.
