We have an opportunity for a Civil/Commercial Associate to join the Litigation Team. We offer an excellent client base, with a varied and interesting workload. This is a fast-paced role where the individual will have at least 4 years’ experience working in a similar role and will be capable of running their own caseload and working on their own initiative, demonstrating a high level of client service delivery.Key responsibilitiesRunning a varied civil and commercial litigation caseload, which includes the following:Advising clients on commercial disputes, including actions for payment, applications for restoration of companies, director and partnership disputes;Representing clients in the Sheriff Courts and Tribunals, including the Housing Property Chamber and Lands Tribunal;Providing advice in connection with commercial property disputes, including termination of leases, dilapidations and access issues;Guiding clients through executory disputes, such as actions for will reduction.Experience of family law disputes and employment law is desirable, but not essential.Key skills and experiencePrevious experience of working in civil/commercial litigation is essentialTakes a pragmatic, pro-active and commercial approach to disputesExcellent attention to detailStrong written and oral communication skillsTakes responsibility for their own mattersAbility to deal with competing priorities and meet deadlinesShows understanding of client’s needs, and tailors advice appropriatelyTakes personal pride in their work and responsibilitiesWorks effectively with other team membersHas the ability to work calmly, even under pressureWhat We Offer34 days of holiday (inclusive of 9 public holidays) plus an additional day for your birthdayCompany pension and Death in Service schemeProfessional development and training opportunitiesDiscretionary bonuses twice annuallyA supportive working environment in a well-established, friendly teamHours of WorkMonday to Friday 9am – 5 pm with an hour for lunch.
