Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Civils Site Manager with a strong civil construction background to manage day-to-day site operations on projects based in Manchester around the surrounding area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, to specification, and in accordance with all relevant regulations and company standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * \n\n Manage daily site operations across civil construction works\n\n * \n\n Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, direct labour, and suppliers\n\n * \n\n Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, drawings, and specifications\n\n * \n\n Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance\n\n * \n\n Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings\n\n * \n\n Monitor quality control and ensure works meet required standards\n\n * \n\n Manage site logistics, materials, and plant\n\n * \n\n Liaise with the Project Manager, engineers, and design teams\n\n * \n\n Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation\n\n * \n\n Identify and resolve site issues efficiently to avoid delays\n\nRequired Experience & Skills\n\n * \n\n Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil construction\n\n * \n\n Strong knowledge of groundworks, drainage, utilities, roads, or infrastructure projects\n\n * \n\n Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades on site\n\n * \n\n Excellent understanding of health & safety legislation and best practice\n\n * \n\n Strong leadership and communication skills\n\n * \n\n Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications\n\n * \n\n Problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach\n\nQualifications\n\n * \n\n SMSTS (essential)\n\n * \n\n CSCS (Black or Gold Card preferred)\n\n * \n\n First Aid at Work (preferred)\n\n * \n\n Relevant construction or civil engineering qualification (desirable)\n\nWhat We Offer\n\n * \n\n Manchester-based projects with long-term work opportunities\n\n * \n\n Competitive salary and package\n\n * \n\n Supportive management team and clear project structure\n\n * \n\n Opportunity to work on high-quality civil construction projects
