Job Description

BIM Manager (Development) – WSP, UK & Ireland. The role supports our Digital Lead in implementing Building Information Modelling across current and future Infrastructure and Development projects, driving digital excellence from planning through delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the production, development, maintenance and management of WSP Planning & Development (P&D) Civil 3D templates, parts lists, training and guidance documentation.
  • Lead and oversee the implementation of agreed BIM training across the WSP P&D business, aligning with Digital strategy.
  • Contribute to and improve BIM working practices.
  • Rationalise and manage guidance notes on software add‑ins and tools development.
  • Develop use of Bentley software where required (e.g., Highways, Rail) to support sector needs.
  • Manage training and development for BIM/Technician staff, facilitating the adoption of new technologies.
  • Attend industry groups and workshops to stay abreast of new technologies and best practices.
  • Support project delivery by defining protocols for digital/BIM deliverables.
  • Provide operational leadership for implementing project protocols on digital tools and platforms.
  • Develop and respond to project BIM requirements documentation, ensuring staff understand ISO 19650 best practice.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading BIM implementation on multi‑disciplinary infrastructure or energy projects, including BIM Execution Plans and ISO 19650 standards.
  • Strong technical expertise in BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Bentley products) with knowledge of model coordination, data exchange, and digital workflows.
  • Excellent collaboration skills; ability to manage and support global delivery teams, lead training, and promote digital best practices.
  • Strategic mindset with passion for digital transformation, innovation, and process improvement.
  • Relevant degree or professional background in engineering, construction, or digital design, supported by BIM‑specific training or certifications (e.g., BRE, Autodesk).
