Development Engineer / Senior Engineer - York\nChris Main Ltd is an Independent Recruiter working in the house building industry.\nMy client is a house builder who have an opportunity for an Engineer or Senior Engineer to join their Technical Team near York.\nThe region builds 500 units per year and have 12 live sites.\nAs an Engineer you will be an integral part of the Technical team overseeing external Design and Engineering Consultants involved in the project management and administration of all technical and design matters for various new build housing projects.\nThe role as a Civil Engineer will include:\n * Assist in the production of layouts and technical reports for Land Appraisals; and required working drawings\n * Brief and commission site investigations, topographical survey and other assessment reports on land acquired\n * Brief engineering consultants on scope of design, which includes roads sewers private drainage, retaining walls, foundation designs any other substructures below DPC level either private or adopted\n * Initial negotiations/enquiries with statutory bodies and utility undertakers on environmental, drainage, highways and other engineering issues when appraising land\n * Issue engineering information to Commercial, Construction and Sales departments\n * negotiation and appointment of consultants\n * Answering Technical queries\n * Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Group’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy\nIdeally as a Civil Engineer you should be:\n * Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a civil engineering or building-related discipline with some residential project experience.\n * Its strongly if you have worked for a developer, although the client will consider Consultancy or Local Authority experience.\n * It is essential that you have knowledge of current EA/Water Authority/Highway regulations and adoption agreements\nThe package includes a company car or car allowance, contributory pension, healthcare, life cover and a bonus
