About The Role
We are seeking an ambitious and driven Civil Engineer - Contracts, Site Operations & Business Development Manager to join our growing team.
This role is perfect for someone currently working in a similar role, or perhaps you are working in a junior operations, site, or project management role and are looking to take the next step in your career.
You will oversee the day-to-day operations of our site, ensure the smooth delivery of projects, and play a key role in managing resources, safety, and quality standards. You will work directly with and report to the Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight & Coordination: Manage and oversee multiple active site projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within budget.
Site Setup & Preparation: Lead the day-to-day setting out of civil groundworks, ensuring accurate alignment and positioning of all site features based on construction plans and specifications.
Workshop & Equipment Management: Supervise the on-site workshop, including the servicing, maintenance, and repair of equipment, as well as defect resolution.
Team Supervision & Scheduling: Lead site teams, ensuring efficient workforce planning, scheduling, and task allocation to optimize performance.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all operational activities comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe work environment.
Documentation & RAMS Management: Prepare and update with HSEQ Compliance Officer, update, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring team members have the necessary documentation and resources to perform their duties safely and effectively.
Procurement & Logistics Support: Assist in procurement activities, material management, and logistical coordination to ensure smooth project execution.
Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and contractors to facilitate seamless communication and coordination throughout project phases.
Operational Improvement: Identify areas for operational improvement, implement strategies to reduce waste, and enhance overall system efficiency.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the Company Director and Office Manager to ensure alignment between field operations and administrative teams, driving cohesive project delivery.
Business Development & Commercial Growth: Contribute to the growth of the business by identifying new and repeat work opportunities, supporting tender submissions, strengthening client relationships, and providing operational insight to inform pricing, tender strategy, and longer-term client planning in line with the company’s strategic objectives.
Who We're Looking For:
We welcome interest from candidates who:
Are currently working in an Operations, Contracts, Sites or Project Manager role
Experience in renewables or remote sites preferred
Have experience in a management or leadership role, with the confidence to make decisions, lead teams effectively, and take a proactive, forward-thinking approach.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Background in construction, civil engineering, groundworks, utilities, or similar
Site/project/operational management experience
Strong organisational and planning skills – able to juggle multiple moving parts
Excellent working knowledge of H&S and compliance
Good with people – confident in communication, delegation, and accountability
Proficient with Microsoft Office and job tracking systems
Full UK driving licence
Desirable (But Not Essential):
Degree or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Strong knowledge of site operations and Health, Safety and Environment Legislation
Experience with budget management and cost control.
Familiarity with tendering and contract management.
Previous experience in civil engineering groundworks

Flexible working – although this is a fully site-based role due to the operational nature of the work and the need to lead site teams directly, we are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements where suitable.
