Job Description
Civil Design Engineer\nVertical Recruitment is working with an award winning civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Manchester. The business has a strong global presence with offices across the UK, Australia, Asia and New Zealand. Despite their international reach, they operate as one collaborative team, sharing expertise across offices and offering opportunities for international secondments in the future.\nThey are known for delivering innovative engineering solutions across a wide range of projects and are continuing to grow their civil engineering team in Manchester.\nThe Role - As a Civil Design Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers on the design and delivery of infrastructure for residential and mixed use developments.
The role offers excellent exposure to projects from early concept stages through to detailed design.\nYou will be involved in areas such as drainage design, highways, external works and earthworks for development infrastructure schemes.\nYou will ideally:\n * Hold a degree in Civil Engineering\n * Experience in residential development design including drainage, highways, plot drainage, external works and earthworks\n * Be confident using Civil 3D or similar design software\n * Experience with Infodrainage or MicroDrainage, or similar drainage software\n * Some knowledge of working with water authorities and processes such as S104 adoptions and S185 diversions\n * Exposure to Flood Risk Assessments, feasibility studies or concept stage design\n * Have an understanding of highways agreements such as S38 and S278\nExperience working on major infrastructure projects such as HS2 would be beneficial but is not essential.\nWhat’s On Offer\nThe consultancy offers a supportive environment where engineers are encouraged to develop technically and progress their careers.\n * Competitive salary\n * Hybrid and flexible working\n * 25 days annual leave plus the option to purchase additional days\n * Employer pension contributions and life assurance\n * Healthcare cashback plan\n * Employee discount and reward scheme\n * Ongoing training and development including internal learning sessions and professional memberships\n * Opportunities to attend industry events and collaborate with colleagues across global offices\n * A friendly and inclusive team culture with regular social and charity events
