CHP Project Manager

Salary is c£50-60,000 per annum plus car/car allowance, 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, pension, private medical insurance etc.
We are recruiting for an experienced CHP Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of combined heat and power projects. This role requires a strong technical background across electrical, mechanical, and civil disciplines, alongside proven project management capability.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of project delivery, ensuring programmes are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience are essential.
Key Responsibilities for the CHP Project Manager:

Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation through to completion
*
Lead and coordinate internal teams, contractors, and subcontractors
*
Review engineering designs to ensure compliance, safety, and feasibility
*
Act as the primary client interface, maintaining clear communication on progress, risks, and milestones
*
Coordinate civil works including site preparation, foundations, and infrastructure
*
Monitor and control project budgets, identifying and mitigating financial risks
*
Develop and manage project schedules using MS Project or equivalent tools
*
Identify risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies
*
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
*
Provide regular project updates and reporting to senior stakeholders
*
Support tendering and bid activities with technical input and project insights
Required Skills & Experience for the CHP Project Manager
*
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, ideally within CHP or similar energy/infrastructure projects
*
Strong technical understanding of electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering principles
*
Proven experience managing budgets, forecasting, and cost control
*
Proficiency in Microsoft Project (or similar planning tools)
*
Familiarity with engineering design software such as AutoCAD or Revit (desirable)
*
Knowledge of civil works including site preparation and construction processes
*
Strong client-facing, communication, and negotiation skills
*
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing contractors
*
Ability to produce clear, concise project reports
*
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
*
Working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and HSE standards
