Join our Production team as a Chiller Operative at Pilgrims Europe in Bodmin . This is a key operational role responsible for ensuring chilled areas are maintained to the highest standards of food safety, quality, and health & safety.

In this role you will play an important part in maintaining correct temperatures, monitoring stock, and supporting efficient production operations, helping to ensure all products meet required quality and legal standards.

Earn Big: Competitive hourly rate, with the potential to earn over £500 per week!

Balanced Schedule : We have a shift pattern of 6.00am - 15.00pm Monday to Friday, giving you more time for yourself.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational & Chiller Management Monitor and record chiller temperatures to ensure compliance with specifications and legal requirements
Carry out cooling surveillance and ensure optimum chiller performance
Ensure all products are correctly stored, rotated, and handled in line with procedures
Report temperature deviations or equipment issues promptly
Health, Safety & Compliance Follow all health & safety legislation, site rules, and safe systems of work
Use PPE correctly and ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose
Report hazards, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions in a timely manner
Quality & Food Safety Act as a food safety and quality champion within the area
Follow HACCP, CCPs, and cooling procedures accurately
Complete checks using QUOR and ensure accurate, timely reporting
Promptly report and escalate any quality issues or non-conformances
Ensure stock rotation and traceability requirements are met
Team & Communication Work effectively as part of a team to support production targets
Communicate clearly with colleagues, engineers, and supervisors
Promote a positive, respectful, and professional working environment
Environmental & Continuous Improvement Minimise waste and manage environmental impact in your area
Support continuous improvement and adopt new working practices
Skills & Experience:

Essential Good understanding of health & safety in a production or warehouse environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
Willingness to work shifts and operate in a chilled environment
Desirable Previous experience in a food manufacturing or food handling environment
Experience working in chilled or temperature controlled areas
