Full-Time | 160 Hours Per Month + Sleep-ins

Salary & Benefits

• £15.75 per hour
• £65 per sleep-in
• + £5 per hour enhancement (where applicable)
• £1,500 Joining Bonus
• Realistic OTE: £36,000 - £42,000 per year
• Overtime available
• Ongoing training & funded qualifications
• Clear progression to Deputy Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Residential Care Worker to join a 2-3 bed children's home supporting young people aged 8-17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

This is a key leadership role where you will lead shifts, support staff, and provide high-quality, therapeutic care to young people. You'll play a vital role in creating a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and take responsibility in the absence of management
• Provide high-quality, child-centred care
• Support young people with behaviour, routines, and independence
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times
• Manage challenging behaviours using de-escalation techniques
• Maintain accurate records and reports
• Support and mentor junior staff
• Work alongside external professionals (social workers, schools, therapists)

Requirements

• Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People (Essential)
• Experience in:
  • Children's Residential Care
  • EBD / Challenging Behaviour
  • Mental Health or Secure Settings

• Experience leading shifts or working as a Senior
• Strong safeguarding knowledge
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and sleep-ins
