Job Description The Role
We are recruiting on behalf of our client in Sheffield for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to manage a caseload of highly complex childrens social care cases, including child protection, looked after children, and carer assessments . You will lead on high-risk cases, support less experienced Social Workers, and act as a Practice Teacher for students on placement.
Key Responsibilities
Manage complex and high-risk cases, taking sole responsibility where appropriate
Complete assessments, investigations, and care planning in line with legislation
Prepare reports for court, case conferences, and statutory panels
Chair reviews and practice meetings when required
Co-work cases to support and develop less experienced Social Workers
Maintain accurate electronic case records
Work autonomously while reporting progress to senior management
Requirements
Social Work qualification and current Social Work England / HCPC registration
Significant post-qualifying experience in childrens social care
Strong assessment, court, and report-writing skills
Ability to manage complex, high-risk cases confidently
