Chief Technical Officer - Early Stage Start-up Location: Remote or hybrid Employment Type: Part-time - Around 10 hours a week - Equity-based engagement Experience: Strong technical background in software development, AI systems, and cloud infrastructure; leadership and management experience. Job Description We are seeking a technically strong, hands‑on CTO to lead the company’s technical vision, architecture, and execution. The ideal candidate will combine their strong back‑end experience with clear leadership, technical judgement, and the ability to manage a small technical team. Responsibilities

Work closely with the business team to translate product and business goals into technical priorities. Define and lead the company’s technical vision, architecture, and development roadmap. Oversee the design and development of a scalable back-end system Lead the development of AI/ML algorithms Manage technical delivery, including prioritisation, delegation, and execution of tasks across the development team. Manage a small technical team, including future hires. Make key decisions on infrastructure, deployment, and scalability.

Requirements

Experience developing, customizing and integrating AI/ML algorithms including LLMs and similar. Strong project management and team leadership experience. Strong product judgment and ability to balance speed, quality, and scalability. Full-stack development experience - ability to communicate clearly and diligently . Expertise in Python, particularly FastAPI. Experience with cloud-native development on AWS. Familiarity with modern database design and optimization. Proficient in Git, CI/CD workflows, and cloud storage integrations. Agile development experience, including working in cross-functional teams. Strong problem-solving, communication, and execution skills.Reliability, adaptability, and ownership mindset.

Preferred Skills

Experience building SaaS products in an early-stage startup. Experience hiring, mentoring, and scaling small engineering teams. Comfortable working with product, operations, and commercial teams in a fast-moving environment. Interest in policy, regulation, or legal tech. Equity or options stake in the early stage company with high growth potential - please note this opportunity is solely based on shares or options granted as consideration (reward) for your work for the next 6 months.
