Inside IR35 - £66/hour Morson is recruiting for an experienced Chief Estimator to lead pricing strategy and cost-estimating activity across a major Combat Systems portfolio within the defence sector. This senior role will drive competitive, commercially robust bids, ensure governance compliance, and provide expert leadership across estimating, commercial, project controls, and supplier pricing. Key Responsibilities Lead and define pricing strategy for Combat Systems programmes.

Own pricing activity for major bids and high-value proposals.

Provide expert guidance on estimating methods, cost modelling, and commercial assumptions.

Mentor a small estimating team and influence wider project controls and commercial functions.

Ensure estimating tools, processes, and governance are fit for purpose.

Support supplier pricing analysis, value-for-money assessments, and negotiations.

Drive continuous improvement in pricing capability and techniques.

Skills & Experience Strong background in estimating, pricing, or commercial leadership within defence.

Ability to interpret and present complex cost models clearly.

Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation capability.

Experience working across engineering, project controls, and supply chain.

Knowledge of software development and systems integration is advantageous.

Strong analytical, leadership, and stakeholder-influencing skills. xehkeey
