Chef/Cook The Clock Tower Café, Sidmouth (Daytime Hours)
Location: Sidmouth, Devon
Hours: Full-time, daytime (kitchen hours 09:0015:00, including weekends)
Salary: Dependent on experience £13.50 - £15
We are a friendly, independent cafe in Sidmouth looking for a chef or cook to join our small, supportive team. We serve simple, homemade food and want someone who takes pride in fresh, tasty dishes and a welcoming atmosphere.
About the role
Preparing and cooking our homemade breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes.
Contributing ideas for our menu and daily/weekly specials.
Maintaining a clean, organised kitchen and following food hygiene and safety procedures.
Managing prep for service, stock rotation and ordering.
Supervising experience is highly desirable and ability to manage a small team.
Working closely with a small front- and back-of-house team to ensure smooth, friendly service.
About you
Experience as a chef/cook, ideally in a cafe or similar daytime environment.
Confident with short-order cooking and working as part of a small team.
Good knowledge of food hygiene; Food Safety certification required.
Reliable, organised and calm under pressure, with good communication skills.
Genuine passion for homemade food and great customer experiences.
