Chartered Structural Engineer (Team Lead)

Location: North West London (NW2)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Start Date: Early January (interviews starting immediately)

About the Role

We are working with an established and growing structural engineering consultancy based in North West London (NW2), seeking a Chartered Structural Engineer to join the business in a senior, leadership-focused position.

This is a hands-on technical role combined with team leadership responsibilities, ideal for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of projects, mentor junior engineers, and play a key role in the delivery and sign-off of structural designs and reports.

The position is fully office-based, with regular site visits as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of structural engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship

  • Communicate effectively with both UK-based and offshore team members

  • Prepare, review, and sign off structural engineering reports

  • Oversee and approve designs produced by junior engineers

  • Attend site inspections and client meetings where required

  • Ensure projects are delivered to a high technical and professional standard

  • Maintain clear communication with internal teams and stakeholders

Requirements
  • Chartered Structural Engineer status (MIStructE &MICE considered a strong advantage)

  • Minimum 5 years UK structural engineering experience

  • Proven experience writing and signing off structural reports

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience

  • Strong communication skills, with a patient and supportive leadership style

  • Comfortable working from the office full-time and attending site visits

  • Eligible to work in the UK
