Job Title: Certification Assessor
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire (UK)
Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

We are recruiting a Certification Assessor to join a specialist PPE Certification team. This is a full-time role offering the opportunity to work within a highly regulated and technically focused environment.About the Team
The PPE Certification function operates internationally, with colleagues based across multiple regions. The team is responsible for assessing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) against UK and EU PPE Regulations to ensure products are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
Successful assessments enable manufacturers to apply the relevant CE or UKCA marking. The organisation operates a robust quality management system accredited to ISO 17065 and governed by UKAS and INAB requirements.

The Role
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will work closely with colleagues across the certification and quality teams. The role involves technical assessment, customer interaction, and documentation review within a regulated framework.
Key responsibilities include:

Conducting certification assessments of PPE in line with applicable standards and PPE Regulations
Interpreting and applying PPE performance standards
Reviewing technical documentation and preparing draft certification documentation
Liaising with clients to explain certification requirements, processes, and progress updates
Attending external technical meetings and contributing to standards committees where required
About You
Essential requirements:

A broad technical background with strong analytical capability
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently using initiative, as well as collaboratively within a team
Logical, structured, and methodical approach to work
Customer-facing experience and strong communication skills
Ability to manage workload, deadlines, and multiple projects effectively
Competent user of Microsoft Office
Flexible and adaptable approach to change
Willingness to travel within the UK and internationallyDesirable:

Science-based degree or equivalent qualification
Experience working within a test laboratory environment
Knowledge of the PPE industry
Understanding of CE/UKCA marking and relevant European legislation
Previous international travel
Additional language skills
