Cater ing Team Lead
We now have a new and exciting opportunity for a Catering Team Lead to lead the kitchen at The Elms Nursing Home.
You will be responsible for creating a wonderful meal experience for our residents, as well as making a positive contribution in providing ahomely environment for our residents.

Summary of duties:
As Catering Team Lead, you will be a hands-on team lead in the kitchen. You will be responsible for delivering a wonderful meal experience for residents and forging strong relationships within the kitchen team and across the home. Main duties include (please request the job description for more information):
Being a team player as part of the wider The Elms and Mission Care team
Be an effective leader to the Elms kitchen team, managing one cook and catering assistants, providing support and training as required
Ensure meals are prepared to a high standard, both in terms of taste and appearance, and are suitable for residents individual needs
Ensure compliance with all standards (hygiene, IDDSI) and best practices, as agreed with the Catering Manager.
Work with the C atering M anager to prepare menus and ensure supplies are managed in an efficient and cost effective manner
Be hands on, assisting with, as required:
- Food service, including bringing the trolley to the dining area and helping residents at meal times (as directed by the nurses). - Clearing up at the end of a shift to ensure the kitchen remain presentable at all times
- Anything else that might be reasonably required to ensure a successful meal service

Skills required:
To be considered for this post, you must have the following:
At least three years experience working as cook in a Care Home kitchen (preferred) or similar en vironment , preferably in a supervisory role.
Very good knowledge of IDDSI, including up to date IDDSI training.
Food hygiene certificate Level 3 and HACCP Level 3.
The ability to communicate positively with residents, relatives and colleagues in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Working in a care home environment, you will have a genuine passion and desire to work with the elderly and those living with dementia and will be person-centred in your approach to residents.
