Job Description:
Abstract Recruitment is currently seeking experienced Multi-Trade Operatives for an exciting opportunity with a reputable client, covering Newbury, Reading, and Basingstoke.
This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position offering a salary of £36,000 £38,000 per year, with working hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable multi-skilled carpenter to join our team. The role involves working primarily in tenanted social housing properties across Newbury, Reading, Basingtoke or along the M3/M4 corridor , delivering high-quality maintenance repairs.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out carpentry works to a high standard (core skill)
Wall tiling
General decorating (prep, painting, finishing)
Basic plumbing tasks (e.g., sink connections, tap fitting)
Installation of latex screeds and vinyl flooring
Ensuring all work is completed safely, cleanly, and to tenant satisfaction
Working respectfully in occupied (tenanted) properties
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience in:
Carpentry/joinery (primary trade)
Tiling and decorating
Basic plumbing
Floor preparation and vinyl laying
Experience working in social housing / tenanted environments (important)
Ability to manage work efficiently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and quality
Requirements
Full, clean UK driving licence
Good communication skills (especially when dealing with tenants)
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Positive, professional, and enthusiastic attitude
