Head Chef Care Home Setting Hours: 40 hours per week Salary: £31,200 £33,280 per annum Location: Aylsham
About the Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join a dedicated hospitality team within a care home environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver restaurant-quality meals in a role that offers excellent work-life balanceno split shifts or late evenings. As Head Chef, you will have full autonomy to create nutritious, well-balanced, and flavoursome menus, working closely with residents to ensure their preferences and dietary needs are at the heart of everything you do. Key Responsibilities Manage the kitchen within agreed budgets and maintain food cost control Lead, train, and develop the kitchen team to deliver high standards Plan and deliver menus that meet residents nutritional and dietary needs Maintain effective stock control and ordering processes Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and presented to specification Conduct regular taste testing and quality checks Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations Maintain kitchen audit standards and documentation Work closely with management and care teams to meet resident requirements
About You Proven experience as a Head Chef or senior-level chef within a catering environment Strong knowledge of dietary requirements and nutrition, ideally within a care setting Holds an Intermediate/Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate Good understanding of HACCP and food safety compliance Experience managing food costs, margins, and menu planning A confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills Passionate about delivering high-quality food and service
