Cardiac Physiologist / Echocardiographer (Part-Time)


Hours: 22.5 hours per week (Monday – Wednesday, 9:00am – 5:00pm)

Salary: £33,614 per annum (based on £56,023 FTE)

Location: South West London

Contract Type: Permanent


Overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cardiac Physiologist / Echocardiographer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality Cardiac Investigation services for both outpatients and inpatients.

This role is ideal for a motivated and clinically excellent professional who is passionate about patient care and continuous service improvement.

You will be responsible for conducting and reporting on high-standard cardiac examinations, ensuring compliance with national and professional guidelines such as those set by the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE). This is also a chance to be involved in service development, education, and governance initiatives within a progressive clinical setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and report high-quality echocardiography and other cardiac investigations in line with professional and national standards
  • Ensure all examinations meet clinical requirements and produce accurate, timely reports
  • Engage with GP practices and clinical teams to promote the service and support referral processes
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of cardiac policies, procedures, and audit programmes
  • Support ongoing quality assurance and participate in departmental audits and improvement activities


✅ Essential Requirements

  • Recognised qualification as a Cardiac Physiologist
  • British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) accreditation or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience
  • Proficiency in ECG, Echocardiography, and Holter monitoring (ECG and BP)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in assisting with or developing clinical policies and SOPs


Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in Pacing Checks, Exercise Treadmill Tests, and Implantable Loop Recorder analysis
  • Previous leadership or management experience in a clinical setting
  • Membership in other professional bodies such as BHRS
  • Additional postgraduate certificates in relevant cardiac specialties
