Calibration Engineer
Birmingham
Up to £20 per hour (DOE)
39 hours per week (Early finish Fridays)

We are currently looking to expand our Calibration / Metrology team and are seeking an experienced Calibration Engineer to join a well-established and highly regarded precision engineering environment in Birmingham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in accuracy, consistency, and working to the highest standards within dimensional calibration.
The Role
As a Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out precise dimensional measurements and calibrations using a range of high-accuracy equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring all instruments meet required standards and specifications.
You will be working with equipment capable of measuring to 0.001 mm (1 micron) and below, including:
Slip Gauges (Block Gauges)
Micrometers
Floating Carriage Micrometers (FCM)
Universal Length Measuring (ULM) instruments
Key Responsibilities
Perform calibration and measurement of precision instruments
Maintain accurate records in line with quality standards
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with calibration procedures
Identify and report any inconsistencies or non-conformances
Support continuous improvement within the calibration process
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in dimensional calibration or precision measurement
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to work to tight tolerances
Experience with gear and spline calibration, manufacturing, or design (desirable)
Experience working within a UKAS-accredited laboratory (desirable)
