Bonsai is a busy successful cafe renowned for its quality coffee. We are looking to expand our operation as well as transforming our food offering. Youd be responsible for food production in our existing location in order to fine tune and develop our food offering before we open a 2nd High Street site. Opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an exciting venture.
REQUIREMENTS: Culinary Skills & Creativity
Strong cooking techniques plus the ability to create original, appealing recipes that fit the cafés style.
Menu Development Experience
Ability to design and test recipes, standardise ingredients and portions, and build a balanced, cost-effective menu.
Food Safety & Hygiene Knowledge
Understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP), proper storage, and cleanliness standards to ensure safe food preparation.
Baking and Pastry Skills
Skills in making items like muffins, scones, brownies, or traybakes. Ability to maintain consistent quality in baked items
Teamwork, Communications & Customer Focus
Work well with front-of-house staff and other chefs, sometimes train and supervise junior staff.
