Role: CAD Technician

Location: Bristol

Duration: 12 months

Rate: Negotiable on experience

Our client is seeking an Engineering Lab Technician to join a small, high-calibre team developing the next generation of on-wing engine inspection technologies and automation solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support engineering R&D projects through a broad range of development testing.

  • Design, set up and operate mechanical and electronic testing.

  • Develop testing apparatus and procedures.

  • Collect and process data using Excel, with Python desirable.

  • Report test results clearly to the team.

  • Devise new tests based on existing results.

  • Support basic 3D CAD work for test equipment design and build.

  • Assist with workshop activities and 3D printing.

  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.

  • Travel occasionally within the UK to conduct product testing.

Essential experience:

  • Engineering verification and validation.

  • Use of oscilloscopes, data loggers and similar equipment.

  • Workshop skills, including basic power and hand tools.

  • Experience in small, fast-moving engineering teams.

  • CAD experience.

  • Creating test documentation, plans and results reports.

Desirable:

  • Test automation experience.

  • Programming of Arduinos, Raspberry Pi, or similar.

  • Robotic programming experience, such as UR robots.
