CAD Technician - Glass & Fenestration Harlow £40,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience)
A well-established and growing specialist contractor within the architectural glazing sector is looking to appoint a CAD Technician to join their design team.
Working across a diverse portfolio of commercial projects, this role offers the opportunity to be involved in the full project lifecycle—from concept through to installation—within a supportive and technically driven environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced CAD Technician or someone earlier in their career looking to develop within a specialist and growing sector.
The Role You will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and supporting the design process across a range of glazing systems, including:
Aluminium and steel windows, doors, and curtain walling Internal glazing systems such as partitions, doors, and fire-rated screens You will collaborate with architects, contractors, and internal teams to develop design solutions, carry out site surveys, and ensure designs are practical, compliant, and ready for manufacture and installation.
The CAD Technician will:
Produce detailed CAD drawings for a variety of glazing systems Interpret architectural and structural drawings Conduct measured site surveys and incorporate findings into designs Support technical coordination across projects Prepare drawings for approval, fabrication, and installation Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams Assist with materials take-offs, schedules, and technical submissions The CAD Technician needs:
Experience in glazing, fenestration, or a related construction discipline Strong AutoCAD skills (essential) Good technical understanding and attention to detail Confident interpreting drawings and conducting site surveys Collaborative, proactive, and keen to develop Desirable:
Revit and/or LogiKal experience Full UK driving licence What's on Offer to the CAD Technician: Salary £40,000 to £55,000 per annum
