Navitas Engineering provides electrical engineering design, consultancy, and testing services to the railway and electricity supply industries.

Our expertise spans the entire asset lifecycle, including feasibility studies, option assessment and selection, outline and detailed design, testing, and engineering support throughout implementation, operation, and maintenance phases.

The role

The CAD Technician will work as an integral part of the design and engineering team at Navitas Engineering to deliver outputs such as layout drawings, single line drawings, circuit diagrams, detailed schematics, process flowcharts, and other electrical design deliverables.

You'll be working on… (what your role and responsibility is)

• Produce high-quality, accurate, and compliant technical designs and drawings in various disciplines, including layout drawings, single-line drawings, circuit diagrams, detailed schematics, and process flowcharts.
• Support the delivery of outline and detailed railway electrification design-related deliverables, adhering to project specifications.
• Implement internal and client CAD standards and related requirements to ensure consistency and quality across all design deliverables.
• Work collaboratively with other CAD technicians and the wider design team to optimise workflows and ensure seamless integration of CAD deliverables.
• Utilise and optimise a range of CAD and BIM-related software to enhance productivity and quality of design outputs.

About you… (what you are skilled at)

• CAD experience in electrical design disciplines, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality technical designs and drawings.
• Competence in MicroStation, ProjectWise, and other BIM software, with the ability to optimise their use to enhance workflow efficiency and design.
• Familiarity with railway electrification design and related deliverables.
• Understanding of CAD standards, regulations, BIM processes, and best practices applicable to the industry.
