JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 7.45am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, and Friday is 7.45am to 2pm

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a CAD Technician to join a growing manufacturing organisation specialising in bespoke joinery and fire-rated door solutions within the construction industry.

As a CAD Technician you will play a key role in AutoCAD design, technical drawing, estimating, and project coordination, working closely with architects, contractors, and internal production teams to deliver high-quality, bespoke manufacturing projects.
The CAD Technician will manage multiple projects using CRM systems, Excel spreadsheets, and CAD software, ensuring accurate estimates, efficient production processes, and excellent client communication across all stages of delivery.

DUTIES
Your duties as the CAD Technician include:
• Create Technical Drawings: Produce accurate AutoCAD drawings and detailed CAD designs for bespoke timber door projects
• Prepare Estimates: Calculate project costs, materials, and specifications to support accurate estimating
• Project Coordination: Plan and manage project timelines, resources, and production schedules
• Client Liaison: Communicate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to confirm requirements and specifications
• CRM System Management: Maintain accurate project data, updates, and documentation within the CRM system
• Production Collaboration: Work closely with factory and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth workflow
• Quality Control: Ensure all drawings and outputs meet required fire rating and industry standards
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and project delivery
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL:
• Proven experience using AutoCAD for CAD design and technical drawing
• Previous experience in a CAD Technician, Design Technician, or similar engineering or manufacturing role
• Experience using Excel spreadsheets and CRM systems for project tracking
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients and internal teams
• Excellent organisational and project coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
DESIRABLE:
• Previous experience in joinery, woodworking, or manufacturing environments
• A background in construction, bespoke manufacturing, or production processes
• Experience with estimating, costings, or project pricing
