Buyer / Procurement Specialist / Manufacturing Buyer to join a manufacturer based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

The Buyer / Procurement Specialist / Manufacturing Buyer will be responsible for managing the end‑to‑end procurement of materials and engineered components required to support manufacturing operations.

The successful Buyer / Procurement Specialist / Manufacturing Buyer will have proven experience in buying / purchasing within a manufacturing / engineering environment.

Package
£40,000
24 days plus bank holidays
Pension – 5%

Responsibilities
You will contribute to the overall strategy for purchasing, supplier management and supply chain development
managing the end‑to‑end procurement of materials and engineered components required to support manufacturing operations
You will play a key role in the continuous improvement of our materials and purchasing processes
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
Negotiate contracts and agreements
Monitor vendor performance issues and corrective action management
Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers
Prepare daily and monthly procurement reports.
Inventory control
Using ERP system
Analyse pricing trends and seek cost-effective solutions
Liaise with various engineering departments
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager
Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 16:15 (½ hour lunch break) & Friday: 07:00 – 12:00
Office based in Wellingborough, Northampton

Requirements
Previous experience in buying / purchasing within an engineering / manufacturing business. Previously been a Buyer / Procurement Specialist / Manufacturing Buyer or similar
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as INFOR ERPLN / SAP or similar inventory management software.
CIPS qualified (level 4 upwards) or Degree in Supply Chain/Purchasing
Commutable to Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
