Sector: Utilities/Energy

£80,000 basic, £100,000+ uncapped OTE + benefits package.

Hybrid working (ideally based within a commutable distance from their Hertfordshire office)

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive, commercially astute, and well-connected Account Manager / Business Development Manager to spearhead their expansion into the Utilities/Energy sector. You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities by leveraging your existing industry networks and positioning our client as a trusted partner for resourcing and professional services. This is a pivotal role for building long-term, trusted relationships and establishing the brand in this new market.


What You'll Do

  • Build a strong client portfolio by winning new accounts across the Utilities/Energy industry.
  • Leverage existing industry contacts to accelerate business development and revenue growth.
  • Promote professional services, staffing solutions, and technology expertise with prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with our internal delivery teams to ensure solutions consistently meet client requirements and expectations.
  • Develop tailored account strategies and growth plans for key Utilities/Energy clients.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and competitor offerings to ensure our value proposition remains compelling.
  • Exceed individual and team sales targets.
  • Prepare accurate forecasts, pipeline reports, and account development plans.
  • Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities.


About You

  • Significant experience in sales or account management within the Utilities/Energy sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully introducing consultancy, professional services or staffing solutions to Utilities/Energy organisations.
  • A strong network of decision-makers and influencers within Utilities/Energy.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain long-term client relationships at a senior stakeholder level.
  • Solid understanding of the Utilities/Energy sector
  • Highly motivated, commercially focused, and proactive in identifying opportunities.
  • Credible and confident when engaging with senior stakeholders and C-suite leaders.
  • A strong relationship builder with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable, resilient, and persistent.
  • Professional, persuasive, and influential at all levels.
