About the Role We are seeking a driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to support the continued growth of freight and logistics business. This is a client-facing role where you will act as an ambassador for the company, developing new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers.
You will play a key role in expanding our market presence, promoting our full range of freight services, and ensuring client requirements are effectively communicated across internal teams.
Key Responsibilities Proactively follow up with potential clients through sales calls, emails, and meetings
Manage and develop relationships with existing clients, ensuring ongoing satisfaction
Promote and sell the full range of freight services including Air, Road, Ocean Freight and Customs Clearance
Prepare and process quotations, proposals, and client presentations
Research, plan, and implement new business development and target market initiatives
Identify new growth opportunities, trends, partnerships, and services
Prepare customer-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in line with operational requirements
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information using the CRM system
Work closely with Operations and Accounts teams to ensure smooth shipment processing
Conduct monthly review meetings with Line Manager and HR to report on performance, challenges, and prospects
Attend UK exhibitions and networking events (subject to management approval)
Achieve business development targets set by the company
Undertake additional duties as required to support business objectives
About You Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally within freight forwarding or logistics
Strong knowledge of air, ocean, road freight and customs services
Confident communicator with strong negotiation and presentation skills
Self-motivated, target-driven, and commercially aware
Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Comfortable working cross-functionally with internal teams
Willingness to travel within the UK as required
