Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

Package: Competitive Salary + commission


Make UK are seeking a charismatic and engaging individual to join our UK-BD Team as a Business Development Executive.


As BD Executive, you will be entering a warm-sales role, where you will contact and engage with our existing members and engage them with our wider service offering of networking events and HR & HSE consultancy.


Working closely with the BD Managers, this post has been key to supporting Make UK's commercial growth and member engagement strategy by evolving members into longstanding client relationships.


It is important that applicants understand this is an engagement role focused on high-quality conversations, not transactional selling.


Key Responsibilities

  • Contact members to promote events, briefings and legal updates
  • Convert members into HRL and EHS subscribers
  • Qualify interest and identify needs through structured conversations
  • Follow up event attendees and nurture interest
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates to CRM following all contact
  • Work collaboratively with advisers and Business Development Managers (BDMs) to build pipeline
  • Contribute to team performance targets
  • Operate within agreed quality, compliance and data standards
  • Participate in training and coaching


Day-to-Day activities

  • Make outbound calls and send e-mails to members in line with agreed campaigns and priorities
  • Handle inbound calls and queries, resolving issues or directing appropriately
  • Build an understanding of member organisations, their challenges and priorities
  • Promote attendance at events and briefings, ensuring suitability and relevance
  • Explain HRL and EHS subscriptions and commercial services clearly and professionally
  • Ask structured questions to understand needs and guide engagement
  • Record all activity accurately in CRM
  • Follow up agreed actions within set timescales
  • Work to agreed activity levels, quality standards and performance measures
  • Participate in coaching, training and development activity


Person Specification

  • Experience in an outbound-call environment - recruitment/ telesales/ insurance or similar
  • Experience working with CRM systems, logging call details
  • Previously worked to KPIs and performance targets
  • Willingness to learn and gain knowledge in membership and services
  • Self-motivated, driven to be successful
  • Friendly, approachable nature who enjoys conversating and building new relationships
