Our client is a well-established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice based in Carlisle. With a strong reputation for delivering tailored financial and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients, the firm prides itself on its client-focused approach and supportive working environment. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled and motivated Bookkeeper to join their team. This opportunity is being managed on a confidential basis by an external recruitment partner.Role Overview - BookkeeperManaging bookkeeping for a portfolio of sole traders and partnership clientsPreparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including ledgers and reconciliationsCompleting and submitting monthly and quarterly VAT returnsUsing Xero for data processing and maintaining client accountsUtilising data capture tools such as Briefcase to support bookkeeping processesAssisting with the preparation of year-end accountsBuilding and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contactSupporting the wider team with ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks as requiredRole Requirements - BookkeeperProven experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice environmentExperience working with sole traders and partnership clientsStrong knowledge of bookkeeping processes, including bank reconciliations and ledger managementExperience preparing and submitting monthly and quarterly VAT returnsFamiliarity with cloud-based accounting software, particularly XeroExperience using data capture tools such as Briefcase (or similar) is desirableAbility to assist with year-end accounts preparationStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsExcellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clientsAAT qualification (or working towards) is advantageousSalary & Benefits - BookkeeperSalary: £25,000 - £32,000 (potentially more for highly experienced candidates)Full-time role (37 hours per week), with flexibility to reduce hours if requiredFlexible working hours through a flexi-time system (between 8:00am and 5:30pm)25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysSupport and funding towards AAT qualifications up to Level 3Friendly and supportive working environment with opportunities for developmentPensionBennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.We are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy, and in accordance with GDPR by applying you are granting us consent to process your data, contact you about the services we offer, and submit your CV for the role you have applied for.
