A well-established and reputable accountancy practice based in Beverley is currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper to join their growing finance team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced bookkeeper or an ambitious accounts assistant ready to step into a more client-facing, practice-based role.

On offer is a competitive salary of £26,000 – £35,000, depending on experience, as well as 28 days holiday (including bank holidays), free on-site parking (usable on weekends too), and potential study support for the right candidate.

As the Bookkeeper, your role will include (but not be limited to):

Delivering accurate bookkeeping services to a portfolio of clients from a range of industries

Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC and MTD requirements

Maintaining accurate ledgers and reconciling bank, sales, and purchase transactions

Using cloud-based software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks to manage client records

Assisting with management accounts and year-end preparation for accountant review

Processing payroll and pension submissions for small business clients (if applicable)

Liaising directly with clients to gather and clarify financial information

Supporting new client onboarding and software setup as needed

Ensuring all work is completed on time and to a high standard
