The ‘What’ – the role

Reporting into the Pathology Operations Manager, Biomedical Scientists are responsible for analysis and reporting of pathology specimens at our pathology laboratory based in Winkfield, Berkshire as well as ensuring provision of a high-quality technical service in line with ISO 15189.

Key responsibilities:

Sample testing/reporting: Carrying out routine analysis of specimens across a variety of disciplines including Haematology, Biochemistry and Immunology. Working with Medical Laboratory Assistants, Associate Practitioners and Senior Biomedical Scientists to complete swift and accurate analysis of specimens in line with local SOPs and ISO 15189. Reporting of results and escalating/troubleshooting results where appropriate.
