Banking Solicitor (NQ) – Elite US Firm, London

Location: London (Office-based with flexible working in line with team needs)

Salary: $225,000 (Cravath scale)

We are delighted to be partnering with the London office of a prestigious Wall Street law firm to recruit a newly qualified Banking Solicitor to join their highly regarded and expanding Banking & Finance team. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with a wide range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including leveraged finance, acquisition finance, syndicated lending, and general corporate lending.
• Acting predominantly for lender-side clients (major banks, investment banks, and credit funds).
• Drafting and negotiating loan agreements, security documents, and ancillary financing documentation.
• Managing workstreams, conditions precedent checklists, and transaction closings.
• Supporting senior lawyers on larger and complex financing structures.
• Coordinating with colleagues across global offices and other practice groups.
• Ensuring effective matter management, time recording, and client communication.

Key Requirements

• England & Wales or Commonwealth qualified solicitor with a seat in Banking & Finance.
• Experience in lender-side transactions is highly desirable; borrower-side experience will also be considered.
• Training with a reputable City, international, or top-tier firm.
• Strong technical grounding in financing documentation and principles.
• Exceptional drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performing team with demanding transactional timelines.
• Commercial awareness, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
