Band 3 Administrator, Dundonald, Ulster Hospital, £12.75 per hour Your new company
You will be joining the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust, working within the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Department. The team provides essential services across a wide range of clinical settings, and you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality care. Although the role is primarily based at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald, occasional travel across other Trust locations may be required.
Your new role
As a General Secretary for the Speech & Language Therapy team, you will provide vital administrative and secretarial support to clinicians and managers. Your responsibilities will include:
Word processing, audio typing, and preparing reports and letters
Sorting and responding to incoming mail
Managing diaries and arranging meetings
Minute taking and preparing associated documentation
Handling general enquiries from staff, service users, and external professionals
Processing information, updating records, and maintaining filing systems
Preparing basic statistical information
Supporting the organisation of appointments and clinical administration
Providing telephone and reception support
Photocopying, scanning, and general office duties
The role also includes supporting junior administrative colleagues, participating in audits, maintaining strong knowledge of IT systems, and contributing to team meetings and departmental operations.
The post is 37.5 hours per week, though the Trust is open to reduced hours, with a minimum of 22.5 hours considered.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:
Essential qualifications and experience: OCR Level II Text Processing (or equivalent)
Four GCSEs Grade C or above (including English) and one year’s admin/secretarial experience
OR
Two years’ admin/secretarial experience
Audio typing qualification or six months’ audio typing experience
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (unless exempt under disability provisions)
Skills and abilities: Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage sensitive information appropriately
Competence in MS Office and administrative systems
Ability to produce accurate, high-quality written work
Confidence interacting with staff, service users, and external professionals
Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
