Pilgrim's Europe is a leading food manufacturer, and we are currently looking for Bagging Machine Operative – Frozen Chicken Production - to join our dedicated team in Grantham. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive workplace with great opportunities for development.
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday - 06:00-14:00/14:00-22:00 alternating
The Bagging Machine Operative is responsible for operating and monitoring the bagging machine within a frozen chicken production environment. The role involves ensuring continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the equipment while maintaining product quality and food safety standards.
Key responsibilities include monitoring the correct filling and sealing of bags, carrying out regular quality checks on packaging (seal integrity, weight accuracy, labelling, and product presentation), and promptly identifying and addressing any defects or non-conformances. The operative performs basic machine adjustments and minor repairs to minimise downtime and reports any technical issues requiring maintenance support.
The operative is also responsible for completing all relevant production, quality, and traceability documentation accurately and in line with company procedures and legal requirements. Working in a frozen environment, the role requires adherence to health and safety, hygiene, and cold-store working practices at all times, as well as effective communication with supervisors, quality, and maintenance teams.
