What the Role Requires The Assistant Logistics Manager supports the day-to-day logistics operation, ensuring the efficient movement of goods, equipment, and vehicles across event venues, production kitchens, and warehouse locations. Acting as deputy to the Logistics Manager, the role involves coordinating transport, overseeing vehicle compliance, and supporting warehouse operations to maintain smooth service delivery. The ideal candidate is a highly organised and proactive logistics professional with experience in fast-paced, operational environments such as events, hospitality, or supply chain. They will have a hands-on approach, with the ability to balance practical tasks such as driving and warehouse support alongside coordination, planning, and administrative responsibilities. They will be a confident communicator and team player, capable of supporting drivers and warehouse staff while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and external partners. The successful candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and adaptable. Key Responsibilities Carry out and oversee daily and weekly vehicle inspections, ensuring all defects are recorded and resolved Coordinate transport to and from events, ensuring timely and efficient delivery Oversee the safe loading and unloading of vehicles in line with company procedures Maintain strong working knowledge of warehouse operations including picking, packing, and dispatch Support the Ops Team with event load-ins and load-outs across venues Undertake driving duties as required across venues, kitchens, and warehouses Manage rota updates and team communication in the absence of the Logistics Manager Support warehouse operations, including covering team absences when needed Oversee hire vehicle collection, inspection, and returns Ensure all driving licence checks are completed and kept up to date Monitor refrigerated vehicles to ensure correct temperatures are maintained Support maintenance scheduling of company vehicles, including HGVs Maintain accurate logistics records and reporting (deliveries, costs, performance) Liaise with suppliers and third-party logistics providers to ensure smooth operations Proactively manage delays, damages, and logistical challenges Support budgeting and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs Assist in supervising drivers and warehouse teams to maintain productivity and safety
