Job Description
Role Summary
An AWS Migration Architect responsible for leading the Data Centre Exit (DC Exit) and orchestrating large-scale cloud migration in partnership with AWS Professional Services, the CCoE, and platform teams. The role focuses on AWS Landing Zone maturity, multi‑account governance, network architecture, DR strategy, and end‑to‑end migration oversight.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead AWS DC Exit & Migration Programme
Own enterprise‑level migration architecture across discovery, dependency mapping, migration wave planning, and execution governance.
Deliver migrations using AWS- tooling, including:
AWS MGN for server migration
Cloud Migration Factory (CMF)
Data migration methods (DataSync, replication services, database migration patterns)
Architect the consolidation of legacy/non‑compliant AWS accounts into customer‑aligned Landing Zone accounts.
Work closely with AWS Professional Services to define migration patterns, success criteria, and programme execution frameworks.
2. AWS Landing Zone Architecture
Enhance multi‑account governance using Landing Zone Accelerator (LZA) patterns.
Define and improve guardrails, SCPs, boundaries, network segmentation, and account provisioning workflow.
Ensure alignment with FCA compliance, security, and operational standards.
3. Network Architecture for Cloud Transformation
Develop cloud network designs supporting large‑scale transformation and DC exit, including:
Multi‑account VPC patterns
Transit Gateway routing
Hybrid connectivity
DNS, segmentation, and east‑west security models
Ensure network architecture supports migration throughput and future‑state scalability.
4. Backup, DR, and Business Continuity
Define DR & BCP architecture aligned to RTO/RPO requirements.
Architect DR strategies using:
AWS Backup, cross-region replication, lifecycle automation
Zerto for DR orchestration
Ensure robust, automated, and tested failover patterns for critical workloads.
5. End User Compute Migration (Workloads & Workspaces)
Support migration of RDS-based services, AWS WorkSpaces, and EUC workloads as part of DC exit.
Ensure seamless integration of , network, and security configurations for EUC platforms.
Required Experience
AWS Professional or Specialty Architect certification (mandatory).
Proven experience leading large-scale AWS migrations and DC exit programmes.
Strong background with AWS Landing Zone Accelerator, multi‑account governance, and security baselines.
Deep expertise in AWS- migration services: MGN, CMF, DataSync.
Experience architecting cloud network designs for enterprise transformations.
Strong knowledge of DR patterns and tooling including Zerto.
Experience collaborating with AWS Professional Services and influencing senior stakeholders.
